Islamic Ahlul Bayt Association of the Triangle (IABAT) was formed in the year 2000.
This organization is the 1st to fulfill the religous needs of all the followers
of Ahlul Bayt, in the state fo North Carolina. With this objective, the organization
was established to include all ethinic groups as part of the organization. IABAT
is a non-profit organization and officially approved for 501-C and all the contributions
are tax exempted.
IABAT was originally based on 4 groups (ELC's) speaking the following languages:--
1) English
2) Persian
3) Arabic
4) Urdu
The official langauge for all the programs is English. However special programs
in any other language are also welcome and arranged.
A Governing Board is elected for a period of 2-years, which consists of 2 members
from each ELC group. These 2 members are elected by the respective ELC's. After
the completion of the 8 members of the Governing Board, the following are elected
among them :--
1) President
2) Vice President
3) General Secretary
4) Treasurer
IABAT is presently renting a portion of a building for its present needs and is
working on a plan to purchase a permenant place. The organization runs from the
contributions from the members of the community. The minimum Monthly contribution
per family is recommended as $50/month. Members are encouraged to set-up Auto Draft
payments to be deducted conveniently from their Bank Accounts each month. Checks
for one year can also be written in advance, to be cashed each month. Additional
contributions are always welcome and much needed.
