CANCELLATION of Programs for this weekend due to inclement weather
After reviewing the weather conditions due to the winter storm, we have decided to CANCEL the programs for this weekend.
The program for tonight Saturday Jan 30, 2010 and Sunday School on Jan 31, 2010 are cancelled. We pray to Allah (SWT) to keep all of us safe & warm in this storm.
The program for next week will be starting from Thursday Feb 4, 2010. The detailed announcement will follow soon.

We have just received the confirmation from the Crescent Committee of the council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America that based on the moon sightings, Inshallah Friday Dec 18, 2009 will be the 1st day of the Holy month of Muharram, 1431 AH. The Ashura will be on Sunday Dec 27, 2009.

Inshallah our 1st program will be starting on Friday Dec 18, 2009, without any change of schedule due to sighting of moon.
Following are some announcements/guidlelines for the Muharram Programs:--
1. We are pleased to announce that our main speakers will Inshallah be Dr. Mehdi Hazari
and Br. Hajj Saeed Hazari.
2. For sponsorship during Muharram programs, please contact Br. Bashir at Phone:

In case of sponsoring food, Please arrange 2-hot dish, salad, bread and water. IABAT
will be providing paper produsts, but you are welcome to make a donation for it.
Our volunteers will be serving the food to all.
Please help our volunteers to clean the center after the program.
3. We greatly appreciate your donations for Muharram programs, regular IABAT activities
and donations for the IABAT building fund. Please advise if you are making a donation
for the building fund. Please contact Br. Farasat for your donations.
4. Parents are requested to take care of their kids during program and while dinner is
served. Please take extra care if your kids are using the restrooms. It is our
responsibility to keep our center clean from trash and najasat.
Inshallah we are trying to arrange an option for babysitting at the center, for the
parents who are interested to leave their kids for the main Majlis. We are requesting
brothers/sisters and young adults to volunteer for babysitting.
5. Please cooperate with our volunteers and park your car, as requested.
6. We request for your support and appreciate if you can volunteer for parking, serving
food and cleaning. Please contact Br. Bashir.
7. If your kids are interested to make a short speech or any other activity, please
contact Br. Mansoor before the program.
8. We encourage you to recite Noha, please contact Br. Farasat or Br. Asad before the
program, if interested.

It is requested to Please Offer the Salat-e-Wahshat- Qabr after the buriyal on Monday Sept 28, 2009 between Maghrib and Isha prayers,
(Prayers to be offered for the departed soul on the night of burial)
It is MOST Important to Give Sadaqa on behalf of the deceased ON the FIRST Night of Burial .This has MANY beneifts & can only be achieved by giving sadqa on the first night when it is MOST needed by the deceased .
It is befitting that on the first night after the burial of a dead person, two Raka'ats of wahshat prayers be offered for it. The method of offering this prayers is as follows:
In the first Raka'at, after reciting Surah al-Hamd, Ayatul Kursi should be recited once and in the second Raka'at, Surah al-Qadr should be recited 10 times after Surah-al-Hamd;
and after saying the Salam the following supplication should be recited: Alla humma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa Ali Muhammad wab'ath thawabaha ila qabri ......(here the name of the dead person and his father's name should be mentioned). (Hashmat Syed son of Syed Mustafa Kamal)

REMINDER - EID Prayers at 8:30 AM on Monday Sept 21, 2009
On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, as announced, Inshallah the Takbeerat for the Eid Prayers will be starting at 8:30 AM, on Monday Sept 21, 2009.
Please note that the The Zakat-ul-Fitra will be between $8 and $10 and will be collected at IABAT for Sayyid and Non-Sayyid. It is required to pay the Zakat-ul-Fitra before the Eid Prayers for all the dependents in your household.
We will Insahallah be having a Potluck breakfast and kids activities to celebrate Eid, after the prayers.
Once again, please donate generously to IABAT, we are still needing your continued support to meet our goals. May Allah (SWT) accept all our Aamals and continue have His blessings on us.
Due to the Eid on work day, some of the brothers and sisters would like to leave early after the Eid prayers, we request you all to please be on time to enable us to start the prayers, promptly.

EID MUBARAK - EID GREETINGS
Based on the announcements by the Shia Council of Scholars in North America, Insahallah the Eid Prayers at IABAT will be held on Monday Sept 21, 2009 at 8:30 AM.
(This decision is based on the majority of followers at IABAT of Ayotullah ul Uzma Sayyid Ali Seestani)
The Zakat-ul-Fitra will be between $8 and $10 and will be collected at IABAT for Sayyid and Non-Sayyid.
We will Inshallah have potluck breakfast after the Eid Prayers and celebrations for the kids.
(Please note: The followers of Late Ayotullah ul-Uzma Al-Khoei will be celebrating Eid ul Fitr on Sunday. However due to unavailabilty of the no. of followers at IABAT for Late Ayotullah ul-Uzma Al-Khoei we are unable to hold the Eid prayers on Sunday. They can pray individually on Sunday or may also join Eid prayers at IABAT on Monday.)

Announcement Regarding the New Crescent of
The Holy Month of Shawwal 1430
Eid al-Fitr
To all believers in North America,
May the peace and blessings of God be upon you!
May God accept your fasting and deeds.
We would like to inform you that the Crescent Committee has conducted the appropriate investigations, through the help of its members and many scholars and preachers from different areas - especially the areas in which there was indeed a possibility of sighting the crescent, although the possibilities of sighting were minimum. The committee reported no cases of sighting the crescent by the sunset of Saturday, September 19th in North America.
Based on this:
For followers of his Eminence Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Sistani (may God prolong his life) Sunday will be the final day of the blessed month of Ramadhan, and Monday, September 21st, will be the first day of the Eid, in the month of Shawwal.
For those who are still emulating his eminence, the Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Abul Qasim al-Khoei (may God bless his soul), the beginning of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr) will be Sunday September 20th, 2009.
May God help everyone to success in good deeds and may God accept your worships. Have a happy Eid and a blessed year!

As you are aware that IABAT is in dire need to collect $10k during this month of Ramadan to payback our debt and some reserve for the rainy day.
Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah (SWT) our members have donated approx $3k, but still we request for your gracious contributions to meet the remaining goal of $7k. Please take additional advantage of the multiple rewards for this blessed month and donate for IABAT, to enable us to continue arranging the programs on a regular basis, following the footsteps of our Holy Masomeens (AS).
As annouced earlier, you can also take advantage of donating the Seham-e-Imam portion of your Khums money to IABAT, per permission from Ayotullah Ul Uzma Sayyid Ali Seestani and 9 other Marja's.
We are planning to make an additional effort on Saturday night to request for your donations and try to raise $ 7000 to meet our goals. Alhamdulillah we are continuing to take benefits of the Holy month of Ramadan.
Inshallah we will be having special programs to commemorate the Shahadat of Amir ul Momineen Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (AS).
We will be starting our special program (majlis) from Wednesday, Sept 9th, 2009 - Ramadan 19th, 1430 AH until Friday, Sept 11th, 2009 -Ramadan 21st, 1430 AH.
